One night I had a talk with God
For I was quite confused
A book by Darwin I had read
Upon his words I mused

I brought this up to God because
I'd read the Bible too
Two schools of thought had me perplexed
My reasoning askew

Created in your image, Lord
Do you look like an ape
Perhaps two books made into one
Could give my mind escape

God laughed then told me, "Well done, son!
You fin'ly figured out
Just how I did it." Then he left
Me reeling full of doubt

Later that day I saw a man
Whom ape like did appear
I shook my head then walked into
A bar and had a beer
