The words scar deep into the verse that never heals but is covered up by makeup, that no one wants to see, hear, or worse feel.

Another great read, Jane, but I think screaming loudly, i.e. telling trusted family member or close friend(s), is more effective than quiet screams. It takes too long for quiet screams to be heard.

Some quick cuts of observation that befits the most resistant observers of humankind gone a bit off the edge. Me Too could use this to send out to any and all.

Bruises on the body heal, bruises on the spirit never really do. Would be good if all so treated would get out of it. Well penned, Jane.

Some bruises would be obvious if not concealed. Others, just as painful, if not more so, are invisible but nonetheless are very much present. A succinct but powerful poem, Jane. Love and best wishes,

Bruises are there whether you see them or not. A relationship like this one is poison to one's soul.

My daughter went through much the same thing. Her ex boyfriend turned into a crazy psycho stalker. Even now with a restraining order, she still lives in fear. I am glad things got better for you.

I find screaming aloud is the best to way to release stress & such,
Not that I seem to be doing it all that much,
As I live alone no one to be around to bother me,
The only place I get knocked around is when I am swimming in the sea...-e-

So sorry you had to go through this. But your outlook now is so positive and I'm so glad you were able to write it down with the help of Jerry.

Sad situations are all around us. Even our church is NOT exempt. The question is where does one go to get shelter from these relationships? Restoration is needed and protection is so vital. Amen

This poem speaks for many people. Just the other day I was shopping in Longos when I noticed one of the cashiers had a black eye. Out of concern, I ask her why she had the black eye, and she answered it was because she was playing Rugby. I do not know if that was the truth or was she just using that as an excuse, but I have no reason to doubt her. Most people won't judge just because someone has a black eye. However, darker things might have happened and we can't do a thing about it unless the person really wants to help herself/himself. (This includes guys too) Some guys are afraid to tell the truth because most people don't believe them.
