Life as I see it exists, but that is as far as I can see...

Poem Artwork

To know the Self…

Lost and drowning in the flow of life’s floods,

Where am I going, where have I been,

Who knows, not I, so deep in sin…

Lost in my “id”, forever searching, forever I do slip,

Into and out of sanity, no maps, no road signs, of which I am accustomed,

No GPS, no radar, no one else there to ask directions of,

Just the sound of me losing my shortly present grip…

Herein is the place I need to explore, maybe I should strip,

As this is the place of my personal insanity,

A place to become the one who I am or go on to become the son of Sam…

Need I be a killer of none, or a molester of many, or for that matter, any?

I am the avatar of my own dreams, the searcher, the god of my own screams,

Am I, or have I ever been anymore than the murderer of the self?

Constantly desirous of raping and pillaging those that exist in my “id”, or so they did…

I find, through out this whole theme, over this weekend, that is, my desire to write,

Has been thwarted with regards the humorous, more aimed at a philosophical nature,

A philosophy of my internal environs, far too dangerous a subject for a therapist,

To delve into without that of a body-guard, or someone else as hard,

To know oneself is to know complete freedom, to know freedom is to desire peace…

This resonates. To know one's self ...not easily achieved at any age.
