“Rufuz at my Feet”

When all else goes wrong,

When you can’t sing a song,

For that day the world did suck it seemed so long,

When life goes against you and you don’t seem so strong…

There is Rufuz, my loving puppy, better than having a hubby,

He lies on my feet, keeping them warm as toast,

Or maybe he just loves me for the meal he got last night, the roast,

Rufuz has to touch, with his body or his paw or his tongue,

Then there are those sharp teeth when he plays and bites my arm,

Come home from work I do, excited he does get, howls and talks,

From my bedroom, oh my god, Daddy made it home again, so happy he is…

Out we go for our walk, him in the lead, taking on all comers,

He would gladly, I think, protect me if the necessity arose,

That is what I get for all the loving he gets, as he grows,

In the beginning I had thought this dog was not going to last,

I am gonna kill him making him a dead dog from the past,

But we are glad we kept him and kept working with him,

His love for us and all the world, is overwhelming, only adopting him on a whim,

But now we are so much happier, that we had gone out on that limb…
