Dead End…
Life’s street is an assured dead end,
Where else can we go once we reach the end?
Further into the next plain, or to heaven or hell, beliefs they differ,
Wish I could bring with me my brandy snifter…
No way for us to bend,
With this dead end we are heading to, yes we tend,
We must I am afraid, do what we must, we must attend,
The last meeting with the gods, maybe therein we can amend,
Our ways, our pasts, our lack of or inability to lend…
So there we sit, at the left hand of the gods,
We think we should have sold our soul to the devil,
It may not be making us this tense,
But the gods know you; you cannot make any pretense,
As for me, I don’t care, take me or leave me; I did what I did,
I cannot change that now, I may not now wish I did something bad,
But all I can do for now, is tell Him I am sad and mostly mad,
For my lack of maturity in life, maybe he will just slap my hand,
Send me back to repair my life again, another shot at immortality…
