Seems death is on my mind today, or what happens afterwards I guess...

Poem Artwork

Light at the end of the Tunnel…

When we take that big trip,

Yes the one past the stygian sea,

Towards the light of redemption,

The road towards that of enlightenment,

Which way do we go at the pitchfork in the road?

On the one hand, we drive to hell but not back,

Our tires melting off and we slow down as rubber we lack,

We see that we may not wish to be there; too late we cannot go back,

Does the devil or Satan welcome us with open wings?

Or do we just register at the inn with no vacancies, no songs to sing…?

If we go the other way, do we end up in heaven, or on the next plain of existence?

Do we see our loved ones; is there a reunion of family and friends we have loved?

Are we welcomed with open arms and given a pair of white wings?

To fly throughout the heavens for our lives they are done,

Do we finally find the peace of the little white dove?

Wish do I, that the answer was not so complex,

Will we live with our families already there?

Or will have to find our own facilities in another part, maybe an annex?

I hope most truly that I won’t be found unruly and become of the next world a reject…

Living life is to think about death, but it is easier to deal with calculus and the regression of Y on X…

But...no taxes! So they say but who really knows. I just think of it as another adventure but without a reservation so you just take what you find for comfort. Great thoughts for today. Now...LIVE!!!!

I'm getting a cozy cottage with a white picket fence BUT it will always, somehow, miraculously, room enough for all who wish to hang out... wait 'til you meet my mom up there, Ed, she's a character! (grin) She'll get a huge kick outta you, my friend! Let's first finish the glorious footsteps we need to take here, though. I refuse to die before I give you and a bunch of others' a "katy hug"... 'miles to go before I sleep'... really good write, dearie. katy xox.
