Remember...

Off the Pigs… Has the world changed so much, That hippies have to come back, To protest war, to take up the slack? Peace is harder to find now, Than it was in the 60’s, oh wow, The hippies that do exist from then, Are dying of cancer and burned out on drugs, They did start way back when they were just looking for hugs… Peaceful co-existence is what we wanted then, Religion had meaning, we meant when we said amen, Since that time more peaceful religions have come to be known, Personally I have found and delved into one known as Zen… Let us bring back the hippies of old, They seemed to have more to say that was bold, No anger, no fighting, no battles in the streets, We need some of that peaceful existence now, Or our children will never see anything but war, Or all that stuff they do see on the tube, All it does is bring out the beast, we can do that much at least…! © ed ~ 11/14/04

That's human nature Ed, we never seem to learn from history.

But thanks for reminding me of a time I missed, I was too busy trying to get a foot on the ladder, I thought then as important. But I did came to realise material things are just what there are, things, that in the long term mean nothing, and are not worth fighting for. I wish all countries would realise this and concentrate on feeding the world. So if bring back hippies would help, I am with you Ed, all for it.

ummm gee you must have belonged to a different hippie sect than I did, Ed. We screamed for peace and started riots. We asked for equality and wore see-through blouses without bras. We were a bunch of strung out druggies who smoked so much pot we didn't have the initive to get anything done. Peace was a good concept, but it died in the ashtray with the roaches. For some reason, once we stopped doing drugs, we stopped marching for peace...perhaps Uncle Tim (Timothy Leary) had a point when he said, if everybody in the world dropped acid at exactly the same time, we would realize world peace...or something like that..LOL I was probably too wasted at the time to get it right.

I can agree with this sentiment. I don't know if I was a hippie but I had one wild hairdo. Mine was naturally curly but everyone thought I spent hours on it. Anyway this is another good one Ed. Take a look at my new chapter for my novel about a real murder but is done fiction. You see I do mine in literally no jail time there. I can do it in such inovative ways. Peace bro.
