After a job interview I get pensive and anxious and nervous and wish it were all over, so I write about strength, thereby giving myself some...hopefully...ed

Poem Artwork

Strong and Centered…

What we wish to be all the time, don’t we?

Life throws us curves; we then bend like a tree,

In comparison to life we are small to a degree,

Strength we do find through the uphill fight,

I am sure that you will all herein agree…

The power of positive thought does work, I think,

Without it from adversity we would shrink,

We do use in our pens a form of ink,

Right prior to falling off the proverbial brink…

We wear an armor to thwart off the negative,

Walls around us to disallow pain from getting in,

Our past lives and those of others the causative,

Asking the gods for strength we all have done so from within,

Sometimes we do for the most part, take it on the chin,

We do move on, we battle and sometimes we win…

Oh, how lovely to hear you speak with such positive words, such wisdom. You open yourself to life, take huge gulps of the ups and downs... then spill it into an absorbing, wistful, warm commentary.

You hold nothing back, Ed, and that is why you are so readable! katy xox.
