"Avoid all needle drugs. The only dope worth shooting is George Bush..."

(w/apologies to Abbie Hoffman)

"Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds. "
Bob Marley
Source: Redemption Song

Faded away did they?

A puddle of their former self,

Melted down by the suns ray,

Sittin’ round tokin’ on their dope,

Legal per their doc,

Or so they fervently hope…J

Lost we did some of the intelligent few,

Gone on to celebrate what they knew,

A better place somewhere new,

Are they happy, we will never know?

Till old we do grow and with death we do go…J

Everybody dies; yes, even hippies do of death partake,

But do not make the mistake,

Of believing in the fake,

I bid to you to continue through life wide-awake,

Realizing life is of it what we as hippies do make…J          © ed ~ 8/17/05

"The '60s are gone, dope will never be as cheap, sex never as free, and the rock and roll never as great."

Thanks for this one, Ed. It's greatly appreciated. Some of us still believe it is 1969.

Remember "Where have all the flowers gone?"... well, they're on my balcony, in pots (did she say POT?). Sigh... everything has new meaning now... but spend a day in me brain, Eddie M... I'm the one speaking softly, strumming an acoustic guitar and YEP... wearin' flowers in my hair. Ah, indeed, where have they gone?

Jaysus, I was well into my 30's before I could trust a guy who had hair above his shoulders. (grin) Hmmmmm... still think about it.

(Excuse me, Petunia, but I think the word "shooting" and the prez's name in the same sentence is illegal.) Nevermind. katy xox

(waving my arms in the air) "Here I am, Ed!" Old Hippiechick checkin' in while physically paying the price for once expanding my mind.

Take care,

Great Ed, sorry I missed out, at the time I was married , mortgage, kids, etc. the hippies scene seemed so far out of reach. But in my later life I have changed that, looks as if I am living life the wrong way round. Take care on them roads,
Reg.
