…one is never alone as long as we are with ourselves…

Speaking to the self,

Speaking to our little elf,

Speaking off the shelf,

We learn to do so with stealth…

People do stare,

When talking I do on the stairs,

Elaborating to anyone or thing that will listen,

Articulating in tongues, when done, others glisten…

Have you ever listened to yourself talking?

Possibly, yes others will then be balking,

Do so when you can, yes definitely when walking,

You must remain silent when you are of others stalking…

To speak is to communicate,

To yell at another is to berate,

To accuse is to recriminate,

To argue could be a debate,

End this right here I should do,

Prior to the law of the land I do desecrate…

I usually don't even agree with me. When you're schizophrenic you often have extended arguments.

I only speak to myself when I want an intelligent conversation. Of course, sometimes I argue with myself and lose.

As you so often do, there is great truth in the midst of your humor.

I talk to myself all the time, and I've found I'm quite a good listener, too. I use one of those headphone ear pieces when I'm walking or driving about. People think I'm actually talking to someone on the phone!

when it comes down to it, if we can speak to ourselves how can we speak to anyone else?

I think that all people who live alone talk to themselves, Ed, I know that I do. That is why I have a cat so if anyone should hear me talking things out, they will (perhaps) think I am speaking to my cat...or maybe on the phone. Cell phones are great, too, I can talk it all out while I am out walking with the phone to my ear...no one ever suspects that I am speaking only to myself. Why do I feel compelled to cover it up? That is the real question.
Take care,
Sherry

I find myself to be a grand companion, who knows all I've been through, who has learned not to disagree with the decisions I have made but councils me not to make the same old mistakes. He is a life long friend that I can trust and is always steering me in the right direction. I have learned to like him and in so doing I like myself. Wondeful write
