Ramblings of Insanity

Poem Artwork

Words do play games with my mind,

Allowing me to believe I am lost in time,

Though for all intents and purposes I am feeling fine,

Maybe I should stop taking my meds with a straw and a powdery line…

Burned out is my encephalon,

My nervous system in a state of anxiety,

I cannot handle all this of late notoriety,

It’s hard for me to remain within the borders of sobriety…

There is no such thing as god,

Or according to god himself,

He told me this while whipping me with a bamboo rod,

Why would he come to me with a façade of an Alaskan cod…?

My rubber room does grow smaller,

Eight by Eight square and my head does touch the ceiling,

You cannot imagine what insanity does to my feelings,

Pricked by a needle I do not bleed nor do I see myself ever healing,

My skin there only to allow myself to see it peeling,

The doctors here cannot help me, mostly by this disease they are reeling…

Who can help me, what can be done, where can I go for treatment?

Not even ten times the drugs do to me bring abatement,

If there were a god, I would to him pray and repent,

Please help those that can end within me this torment…

A truly sad and powerful piece, my friend - and I truly hope this is just a poem, as they say. And if we weren't all crazy already, we probably would all go insane.

PS That picture looks just like a rest stop bathroom I once had to use - on the Jersey Turnpike!

This sounds like you have been listening to "Dark Side Of The Moon," Ed. In order to believe in God or anyone else, we must first believe in ourself. Great poem about dueling with the demons that hide within the recesses of our mind.
Take care,
Sherry

Ed,
I have experienced a lot of this, but I have always held on to
GOD AND I HOPE TO DO ALWAYS.
I take special interest in this subject, and I hope you find peace
My suggestion is that you never doubt GOD....Faith Saves...
Hold on....you've created a good poem , but there is real real
pain here.....I will pray for you...peace',
