The Road to Sanity is paved with Self- delusion...

Poem Artwork

Not so much a place,

Not so much to get out a race,

A room made of foam,

Ceiling shiny of chrome…

A fog does blind me from within,

So thick I do cry a soup of cream,

Am I depressed or just altogether stressed,

Too heavily medicated to even get dressed…

Elated to live in a room of elasticity,

Zapped occasionally with electricity,

These drugs preventing my analyticity,

Need I know their toxicity…

Will I ever be well enough to leave,

For now to my doctor I do cleave,

Please dear doctor don’t of me rive,

Here is where I do be, therein I do strive…

Zapped occasionally with electricity,

Turn the voltage down - just a tad.

Hang tough
And start getting out in the Great Outdoors more often like Dead Poet..:)
And swirl the smarties down the loo

Wow Ed ...

If this is a work of imagination I commend you. If it is an overview of a present dilemma in your own personal life, you are in my prayers.

Stand Strong ...

This poem sort of reminds me of the book "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest." I often wonder if people are kept so heavily medicated that they become dependent on the drugs and they lose the will to recover? Depression comes from many avenues, some of which are physical. It distresses me that we do not treat patients as a whole being in these cases and the physical aspects are ignored. I wonder how many people could be healed if we addressed the depressed physical aspects of the disease before we took the simple route of over-medicating the patient? You have tossed out way too much for my simple brain to successfully sort through so early in the morning, Ed.
Take care,
Sherry

Precious Ed, not to worry..There is a season and purpose for everything..If everyone on earth would just forget the stimas associated with wellness and what it takes to get well, we would all be getting well.....(((((Smile))))))))
