We all say that we want peace, but I often wonder if we all just want the peace that can be handed to us and not the one that we have to do something to achieve? We can't seem to mend fences with our neighbors, get over family differences, forgive someone who did something unkind to us years ago, and we even scream obscene words at someone who is peacefully driving too slow for our liking, etc.; yet we expect nations with all their varied differences to simply hoist the white flag and the world suddenly be a perfectly peaceful place. I have been listening to the call for peace my entire life, but I have yet to see one of those people creating peace within their own environment. Nobody is going to bring peace to us, if we want it; each of us is going to have to work to make it our reality. It starts with individuals, not with nations.
