Poem Artwork

Nothing whatsoever to do,

I walk the dog, nothing new,

I clean the house, out the windows I can now view,

Gettin’ ready to go back to work, I’m afraid, right on cue…

’m bored, world weary & blasé,

Worries & such do on me weigh,

Will I ever live in a real house,

Will I ever do battle with a backyard grouse…?

My dreams have become nightmares,

Just a room to have up a flight of stairs,

Out in the boonies where I can watch the bears,

Beyond that of prying neighborhood stares…

On the porch bare, watching bears, is something I could bear.

Slap yourself silly and go camping! The wilderness awaits those, such as you!

Wait a minute, Kimmy already said that.

And I hate to pour salt on your wounded soul, Bro, but, being retired, I don't have to worry about Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday...you get the picture.

Wait a minute, Dan already said that.

I know! If you are that bored, get out there and get that Christmas shopping done today, for your beloved brother Pee Wee. His Christmas Wish List can be forwarded to you, upon request.

I found such a home only three years ago...no neighbors, no cars to speak of...no noise...just trees, trees, and more trees, surrounded by fields of cabbage and potatoes, cabbage and potatoes...! The nightime here, brings in a world of wildlife, like, bobcat, deer, armadillo, skunk, owls, bats, opossum, and once even a Florida panther. I hear their are bear, but we have yet to see them.
I love my privacy, so, I feel for ya...:)
Go camping...
Love and Peace~

Bishop Castle is 5 miles from my backdoor. It is in San Isabel Colorado, not Pueblo. In June, my male cousin was entombed in a wall in this castle. His cremated ashes remain in a vault where we as his family can see his urn. I helped put some rock on this castle with Jim Bishop, my friend who has been building the castle since 1969. I was just 11 when he started. I visit often. I will have my books in the giftshop this season. The dragon belts out smoke from the fireplace. Jim Bishop is now constructing the moat. The castle has been a thing of controversy for many years of fighting the government for tax exemption which Jim has succeeded. Jim lost a son to this castle. A baby born to Jim and Phoebe Bishop about 15 years ago crawled into a hole where a tree was dug out to remove it and somehow the baby crawled into the hole and the tree's roots and stump went back in the hole and killed their child...the castle as it appears in this photo is an older photo...much more work has been done since....thanks for my hometown, Ed.

It's Sunday and you have my sympathies. I'm the same as billions. Monday looms to put a damper on Sundays if we let it.

Love this home. Where is it ( the picture) Is it Scandanavian?

Love and blessings!
Susan
