Poem Artwork

Surely I’ve smoked a joint or two,

Sometimes alone, sometimes with my crew,

Nothing here I say is anything really new,

What was it I wanted to say, I wish I knew…

Forgetful & without the proverbial clue,

I write this for myself & all of you,

Don’t pick up the habit,

For there will come a time when you will have to have it…

It really doesn’t do the body good,

I really kind of wish it did or could,

A break I have recently taken,

Its been a few weeks, still it I do miss,

But what it is I miss I cannot to you relate,

Suffice to say of not getting high I am not fake’n…

Supposedly good for depression,

But it would have to be a never-ending smoking session,

I don’t think I ever had a total obsession,

Though it did to a degree alleviate any aggression…

Good personal write, Ed. I used to think pot was pretty harmless, but now I have a friend hooked on it bad. He says he can't give it up. Only thing making it look benign to me now is meth....................Jerry

The only joints I ever smoked was out to kill me (Cigarettes) and after six years I am not going there again. Thank you for sharing Ed.

You know it has been a long long time since I smoked weed and I must say now and then when I go to a concert or a party and some passes a joint under my nose the temptation still lingers...only reason I think I pass it by is I am afraid it will lead me to stronger drugs again...cigarettes.

Hi Ed, I like the "philosophy" category that you listed this in. Several different philosophies fluctuates in this write. I know of some people whom society would deem as "pot heads" but they don't look the part. The ones that do are called "dope heads" and not merely for their use of the stuff. Hey, it sounds like the only person(s) that you would be inclined to be aggressive with is the other Ed's. Kind of fun watching, though.... (smile)

I have a few friends who take 'pot' for medicinal reasons, and after so much time they too forget why it was they were prescribed the weed. On the upside, they are perfectly happy, but hooked.

Cheers,
Dan

I think you wanted to say how much you loved your brother Pee Wee, and how sorry you were for talking about his hiney.

And, Wow, I'm envious. Brother Edvard is giving you a promotion - he hasn't promoted me in years!

PS: Ma says if he's promoting you, he should increase your allowance, too.

One of your best non-nature poems, dear sir. Good advice and very well written. I certainly can relate. Oh, and thanks, buddy!

A full score ago and then plus five

I took my last toke and that's no jive

Not because it, bad things involved

It just was not compatible with my life as evolved

Miss it? Sometimes, but less than you'd think

Enhanced amusement has a very weak link

Stick with your Den friends for they are the key

To reading and loving your daily poetry
