Mostly reeling. With gas at $3/gal an economy model costs about 10 to 15 cents per mile just for the fuel. Even if the POS is paid off, insurance and registration(I'm sure Jersey is not cheap) can easily cost $1,500/year. Drive one mile...that's $1,500 per mile. Ok drive more miles, say 10,000. Gee now it's only 30 cents a mile including fuel. What's that you say? You need tires, an oil change, a new transmission, and a tune up? Screw it, I'm walking.

I think it takes about $8000 a year to own and drive a car. You certainly wouldn't be free from poverty. I'm saving for an electric. Plug 'n Go, yay. I'm certainly doing my part at the moment in not impacting the environment--bike and bus for me. But this is a rural area. Write down the pros and cons--if one outweighs the other you'll have your answer...

For the moment I am without my wheels.....my baby overheated...my own stupid fault...did not close the watercap nicely, and it popped off!!
