He died when he was sixty-eight,
I think he knew what was his fate,
He had with God I believe a clean slate,
I know for sure with me he did rate…
His life hard as anyone’s,
Saddled with a kid like he had, was always on the run,
He had trials & tribulations with as well his wife,
But to his credit he didn’t from his responsibilities run,
He stayed the course till one day he FORTUNATELY DID FIND his son…
The last seven years of his life, we were close,
In the end he never told of the cancer they did diagnose,
He had had humor, dry, I suppose that’s where I get my dose,
He played the piano, not me though, have rhythm but no talent…
He died on a late September fall day,
He knew of my love, of my affectionate feelings for him in every way,
We got along well those last seven years,
We got past a thousand percent of our together younger fears,
He passed on to me things I cannot yet decipher,
Though I hope thinking about him will make them someday clear…

Very beautiful and loving tribute to your Dad. I also lost my Dad years ago. Time heals all wounds but we never forget. They still live with us in our hearts. I'm so glad you found each other and had those seven years to build memories.
Blessings+

GOOD TRIBUTE, AND FROM THE HEART ... TK.
Hope they know how much we care.

You can't help but carry on for both of you.
It's all part of the path, you know, those years of closeness, and those stones in the way.
Blessings,
Christine
