Not a demonstrative Christian, BUT...

Definitely NOT aimed at anyone in particular on the Den, just at those folks that think just because I don't express my beliefs, means I am not a Christian...

Poem Artwork

I believe,

He does of my worries relieve,

To Him I do cleave,

Of being a Christian I do achieve…

I do not constantly profess of my faith,

He is there, I know it, in my life,

He does alleviate all my strife,

I don’t give to Him every gripe…

I don’t as well pray, in the classical sense,

I guess I am still to a degree about religion straddling a fence,

I wish blessings on those that are in need,

And of His blessings, when He gives them, I feed…

So I guess I do what I can with what I got,

But being demonstrative I am definitely not,

So allow me to be the me that He does allot,

Don’t expect me to be you, as you can see I’m not…

Great self expression Ed. Too many people try to put God/dess in a box of their own making, then try to put everyone one else into that same box with their God/dess. Taking care of each other is what true religion is about. Good write!

As long as you know it Ed, that's what counts. Great write.

My spirituality is a hodge podge of beliefs from all organized religions, and a lot of Native American mixed in.

Like you, I don't pray on my knees with sackcloths and ashes.

But then again, I haven't tried it either.

We all 'believe' in our own way. You are blessed indeed to have the talent to put this words on paper.

Huh?!

Ma told me you were a Buddhist,
I think you told me that, too;
Be whatever you want to be,
As long as you, are you.

Why bother worrying about what anyone thinks, Ed? Fuck 'em.

This is a good and honest testimonial, Ed. You do not "have" to be a Christian to have faith in God and for Him/Her (perhaps God has not gender) to love you. There are many faiths, as you know. Love and blessings to you,

Regis

And here I thought this particular AD stood for "Author's Den."
And I think of Jesus as that, "DON'T JUDGE" guy.
How about this- Christians are those people who "get cross" at you.

Oh excuse me- that is politically incorrect- but good writing.
What are we doing here?

John
