If it wasn't for our WW2 vets, we could be living under a Nazi/Japanese leader & have never known freedom...

Poem Artwork

They’ve suffered hardship,

Some on land, in the air or on a ship,

A great number didn’t make it home,

Some who did still this land do roam…

Whenever I see a veteran,

No matter the war they fought,

I offer my sincerest thanks,

Because they of our freedom bought…

Some don’t remember,

Others get downright happy,

That someone else remembers them,

So thank all you meet,

It will make them feel pretty neat,

But do so quick as most of them,

Are in of their lives the latest PM…

Great advice. As I recently contemplated my uncles in World War II, I realized that the reason Uncle Ed has done so well was that while he served the entire war, he never went overseas. Uncle Basil and Uncle Frank, on the other hand are greatly affected by what they went through and never recovered from their war experience.

The subject of my very first book...Red Soil...was my father and it told the story of his life as a soldier in WWII and I am proud of what he and all those men and women done to keep the freedom we often so easily forget...

Very well done, Ed. What ever happened to "Remember Pearl Harbor"?
Too many seem to have forgotten and we've made Japan the #1 maker of cars and trucks in the world while destroying our own economy and devastating far too many American families. And now we're doing the same with the Korean cars. We are one crazy people. As for me? I still say "REAL AMERICANS, BUY AMERICAN!" Especially real American veterans. PERIOD!!!!
