Boredom, the bane of night…

Poem Artwork

Sitting in the interior light,

Wondering what is right,

Trying for something good to write,

Boredom is certainly the bane of night…

Mind filled with a fire unknown,

Taken from a time when hardly grown,

Into the collar of a coat boredom is sewn,

To always be present but never shown…

If this you do understand,

Then explain it to me,

Nothing have I written here planned,

No thought in my head is ever grand…

A busy pen is a happy pen. But I do understand boredom. It's not necessarily the enemy though. Patrick

A great way to beat night boredom is to start wandering out there in the dark. You can meet all kinds of wondrous wildlife and probably even find a new pet in need of your help.

Like my poem this week says, it's time to climb out of your head and into something grand.

Of course I understand this, and I imagine that you do also. Great two lines above, man.

"Nothing have I written here planned, No thought in my head is ever grand…" I think that's the way it is for most of us, Ed. Well done.
