Another close friend,

Unfortunately I did not have him till his end,

Away he had to be adopted,

Love him I did & will till my eventual end…

We used to walk the Sea Isle beach,

He was my buddy, my friend, my confidant,

So much more to me did he of life, teach,

He helped keep me sane, or at least of it, in reach…

He was “just a dog” some said,

He loved to sleep on my bed,

To me he was more than any other,

Of love he did for me smother…

No other can of him replace,

To me he was never base, but a top hand ace,

Of Rene’s horse Sinders he did love to chase,

He was the best, to replace him will be a hard case…

He came to me of late in a dream,

The one and only time I have of him dreamed,

I think he was saying good bye for now, <tears>

His time to leave this earth had come,

And he came back to tell me in his own way,

I hope to again see him on some distant day…
