Woods at the shore...

Poem Artwork

He wandered the woods,

He made his own goods,

He kept to himself,

He lived off the shelf…

We do of each other resemble,

Though I do wander oceans shore,

He found solace in and amongst the trees,

He found relaxation and time to reflect sitting on a log…

I do the same, but on a rock jetty,

Jutting out into the endless ocean,

Nothing do I find at the shore of the sea as petty,

There is where I do of God give my unending devotion…

I hear ya Ed! As much as I love the forest...there's no place my soul feels more at home than beside the sea...

This one of yours I particularly like...
A more deep thinking Ed here, excellent one...
I do like the comparisons...

An interesting poem that is, “ not off-the-shelf.” I like that phrase when applied to David Thoreau. I guess he had everything he needed on that shelf to survive. Today we would have to be, “off the grid,” and that would be very difficult for some people so hooked on their electrical and electronic things.
