All caught up for today, reading of my family here on AuthorsDen...

Poem Artwork

I’ve read what I’ve read,

I’ve read who I read,

Someone somewhere gave me this seed,

After reading what I’ve read,

I find I got what I did need…

Thanks to all the best writers,

Thanks to everyone that wrote,

I won’t of others herein quote,

But to read of such talent,

Does bring to my eye a tear,

And a choke to my throat…

This Den of ours,

Passes away the hours,

We are all akin to family,

And when we lose one,

We feel the same remorse,

We do send a poem or story,

In lieu of flowers…

Ed,

I never thought about it this way, but when one of hurts, the others send their poems/stories to comfort. After all, that's who we all are. Great incite!

When your beloved brother Pee Wee passes, I sure hope you send a poem and flowers. (And he says that if you want to send something before he passes, send some beer or bourbon.)

Prose tickles the nose and one has to laugh even if it's the last.
