...they're coming to take me away to the funny farm...

Poem Artwork

I don’t go out,

I just sit at my window & out stare,

I watch the trees change color,

The squirrels gather their nuts,

I watch the clouds blow by,

I don’t like anything blocking my view,

I need a clear field of vision,

I think I might be going nuts…?

Nobody even does of me visit,

I speak to myself to pass the time,

I write on this computer mostly in rhyme (see…?)

I hear the cicada’s song, fading in the colder weather,

And watch the progress of a floating feather,

I feel like I am buried already covered in lime…

Is this truly insanity that I do approach,

I sit here and smoke my pot right down to the roach,

Is this a life that I have, or do I of insanity encroach,

I take my pills like a good little boy,

I keep myself alive & no longer play with my toys,

I barely do eat, or listen to music’s beat,

TV has become a lost personal art,

I sit here on this computer & stare at its screen,

Hoping against hope I don’t actually go mad,

And start to against the world & myself start to in craziness scream…

You better take a computer break,
And take another walk on the beach;
There is far more available in life,
And much of it, is truly within reach.

Who knows? The funny farm might not be all that bad. Three squares a day, people around to talk to, free internet, maybe. Hmmmmmmmmmm!
I might even join you.

Instead of just staring at the screen or out the window, why don't you just write your autobiography like I'm doing––circa 1992 and still writing.

In this little book, you will not only take up a lot of the time it takes going crazy, but you will be able to write “your story, your way.” You can write about all those bad things that happened to you that puts you in the hole you're in and get back at those people (like me) who have treated you badly.

Before you know it, it will be spring and the New York Times will post your tome on the bestseller list for guys caught in the New Jersey riptides.

I think you are giving yourself time to reflect on nature and life. I believe you are grieving the passage of summer and fun on your boogie board. You're O.K.. This too shall pass.

Love ya!

I knew a fellow who stayed holed up in a WWII bunker on the Gulf coast. He kept a dozen cases of beer and 20-30 cartons of cigarettes on hand, along with assorted firearms of many kinds. He looked out his window all day, smoking, drinking, and drawing porn for friends and foes, and occasionally writing poetry. We buried him with a huge erection. I guess he was holding back preparing for something.

If you are anything like me you have to hide inside when the squirrels are gathering their nuts! LOL

I hope the weather is more kind to us this year.
I'm tired of us Jersey guys getting kicked around.
Hang in there.
