Psychology of the self,
Posting it on my shelf...

Here they come,
They are in my bloodstream approaching,
To my brain they are encroaching,
From me, my life they are poaching…

Surely they help to keep me alive,
And towards that end I sometimes strive,
Seems though that depression does of me drive,
For the most part though my life does seem to thrive…

So many pills, so little time to rhyme,
Keepin’ me alive, they are, but I seem to be far past my prime,
Will I live to see tomorrow, next week, month or another year,
Of death I find I have no fear,
Of life though I can only daily sneer…
