Hopefully I won’t of anybody offend,
But to of myself herein I do defend,
I am just trying to figure out what happens in the end,
And with regards that direction, my life I am trying to amend…
Is there anything after life,
The question asked by philosophers, poets & brainiacs,
Since the beginning of time & likely into the future far,
While not being more than one of those people,
I am lost in the religious wanderings of many before me…
Is there a bright light to follow to an eternal place,
Are our families & friends we’ve lost in the past waiting,
Or are we just succumbing to religious discourses,
That have been meted out over so long that we,
Just go along with it without any thoughtful reflection…

From my embattled perspective, the only way that we live on is through our genes. That means good old procreation. If you have dropped a son or daughter along the way, then your genes will live on in your son or daughter.
Since I don't have any children, I won't live on. But that's okay. Why believe in bull ship just because you have to, to get along?
Wow man..far out..sounds like somebody went to a smoking party, that started . 9pm ...had a conversation with a light bulb.. & fell asleep by 11pm..Party was the best, but can't remember it...

I look at it this way ED...life is short here on
this Earth and therefore I believe in an afterlife.
It is our learning place to learn about love etc.
your life has been a good one so far, and continues to be so, at least I hope so, live it to the fullest, trust noone really, and keep on plugging away at these poems you write. Very interesting most of them are to me anyways.
Well you seem to have many bases covered here. I can say I have tried several different religions and many different denominations of Christianity. When it is all set and done it's all about love and hate and good and evil. I like the example Jesus provided when he lived on earth. All He tells us is to follow Him and to love others with a kind heart. I can do that. So here I am, One Happy Christian! Amen!
