My world is that of boredom,
It is & will ever be my prison,
So few others inhabit my kingdom,
Learned have I from my sentence here little wisdom…

Screams seem to come from within,
This cell in which I do reside,
Just a way to pay back for my past sin,
I exist here much to my own chagrin…

Am I alive and whole,
Upon my death I will be burned black as coal,
My time here spent trying to attain my goal,
That of being returned to me my errant soul…

A while ago primal screams were all the rage for overcoming various ailments. I want you to have the goal of writing your memoir as accurately as you remember it without any frills or fiction to make it seem better or sell better. While writing, you will take your mind off your troubles and your boredom will slip away.

Having known you a long time on author's den, i used to see you sitting outside enjoying nature. Now i suppose you stay inside just worrying yourself to death, Sorry to be so blunt, but I would think you of all people would try harder to enjoy life. There are people worse off than you are.

Get outside! Say, "Hello!" to someone. Notice a plant. When you get like this, hon, you need to get "outside of yourself".

Unfortunately, going backwards is not an option. My own solitude is in some ways similar to yours ...I prefer to treat it as a joy of peace and calm, rather than a sentence for past sins. There is one great bonus for such a quiet life... Time does not fly, as it would if we were having too much fun to notice its passing.

Ahhh . . . I somewhat relate, Ed. I find myself thinking along those same lines ever so often. Still, I'm not quite ready to check out. I still have passion within my heart, and that keeps me going.
