To free verse or not to free verse..

Not a philosophy in the classical sense,
More a try at making, other than usual, some sense...

Poem Artwork

I have never of it tried,
I tend to “poem” with the rhyme,
And my commenters have been more than kind,
In allowing me to write of what in my head I find,
Ain’t it really just so much a crime…?

To write freely but in verse,
I think a poet must be basically terse,
But as for me I think I would be worse,
Better I am when I must write with a curse…

The verse I speak of here is called free,
As no sane person would pay for verse from me,
My favorite subject is of course of the sea,
But even then I find through self-thought,
That my verse, be it free or rhyming, can be quite crappie.

There is nothing wrong in your poetry, especially in how you write,ED!

I say just write in what ever style floats your boat on that sea of prose or verse.

After following you for some time now I find that you truly do love the sea. That salt water is in your blood, Ed. Oh, I enjoy the poems you write and must agree with Rebecca.

Love ya!

On the inland seas (lakes) we fish, catch and eat the crappie. It's not as good as a walleye or a tuna, or even a salmon. But it's a pretty good pan fish and not very crappy, like catfish or sucker.

Where was I. Sometimes your poetry is quite humorous, especially with its "forced" rhymes. But I think it's great that you can express yourself to get rid of all those sea demons that haunt you and that you have people here who say nice things to cheer you up (while I don't) like they have below.

The poet who don't know it… Ron

Oh I don't know. Your work doesn't seem so crappie to me.

You may think its crappie, but I think it's funny. I tend to write traditional verse with rhymes. It just comes out that way. Occasionally, I venture forth into free verse. John

I write in both styles, but tend to favor free verse, Ed

It is according to how I feel at the moment, either way it is quite possible to get you point across.

You are a rhyming sensation, legion in your time.

Transcendental Sojourn-Arrival to One Journal by Liz Cosline

Explains the realizations that have given the author the views of living life fully. The life each person dreams about. You must take a look at yourself before dreams can be reached. Deciding what is the core of belief.
