different…
not an ugly duckling,
but I am different,
so had all my teachers told me,
and my parents said they could see,
the only person unable to see was me.
I had hair like the others,
blue eyes, fair skin, wore clothes,
maybe not the “in” shirt or pant,
clothes from xmas, I can’t very well rant,
I mean I did what everyone else did,
or so I thought, wasn’t an Einstein,
still they all thought I was a different kid.
Here I am an adult,
I now know I am different, as are we all,
different clothes, attitudes, prejudices, likes,
different countries, states, styles & dislikes,
we are so different, why can we not get along?
our differences unite us, they make us strong,
with each other, we can do anything, or am I wrong?
we just got to have faith in the self,
because we are all there is, god comes after death,
we need to be strong now, in this life, not after,
With each other, man, woman, child, we are different,
*we are invincible* (ed)
