But Dad, I am Only Trying to Help...

Really, I am only trying to help Daddy, but he says I am destroying the broom! I don't even know what a broom is?

Poem Artwork

But, dad, I am only trying to help…

        (from the paws of Rufuz)

Dad uses this big piece of wood thing,

To brush the snow off the walk & steps,

It makes the snow fly in my face,

I like that the most, glad that thing he kept.

I grab it with my paw & hold it till he says no,

Well, sometimes even then I won’t let it go,

Most of the time, he doesn’t get mad,

He just takes more pictures of me, which makes him glad.

He thinks it funny,

When I pick up this wood thing,

And walks away with it, calls me again a bum,

Then tries to catch me, but to no avail,

He might do better with a sail,

I am still faster than he, can’t he just see?

                                                (Rufuz)
