GOING OUT…by Rufuz,

no, dad, I really don’t want to go out,

but its raining & snowing and sleeting out there,

I like the cold, but this is getting too much to bear,

stop pulling me out the door,

Dad, I don’t want to have to growl,

and I hate to make this much of a rowel,

but how would you like being pushed outside,

when its in you want to be, keeping myself dry.

I don’t mind our walks, and playtime is also fun,

but to just go out on the leash and sit on my bun,

while I get rained upon, would cause me to run,

under the camper, if I could, or under the picnic table,

just bring me in, turn on the tv thing with the cable,

and I can watch my soaps all day while you work,

ain’t I such a doggy type of jerk?

not stupid am I,

I know where to lie,

up in front, to observe my domain,

and watch out for you, when you come home,

hopefully you are in a good mind frame,

or I will be getting dry chunks for my dinner,

no dad I was only kidding, whatever I get is fine,

just remember not to cross that thin line,

and push me out the door, when in my butt, i don’t feel

                                a bind…

                                                 (Rufuz)

Someone needs to invent a battery-operated electric coat for dogs that doesn't short out and shock when it gets wet. Too bad you can't litter-train dogs; on the other hand, as big as Rufuz is, I wouldn't want to be the one to clean out his litter-pan.

I agree, Rufuz, shouldn't have to go out when you don't need to. Tell Daddy to get you one of those water-repellant sweaters with hoods for head and tail. And don't worry about missing the soaps on TV--what you miss today, you can usually pick up on in about six months. Love, Auntie b

Poor Rufuz! Wonderful write.

Makes me think of lady. In the summer she would take forever to find that special spot to take care of her business, but in the winter talk about a speeding dumping bullet! :-)

Rufuz should be allowed to watch those soap operas. They are very educational. Tell him Turbo will e-mail him an update on the shows he's missed.
