Aesop’s fables continue to influence people of all ages . Many stories are meant to be an essential part of moral education. Here I have some limericks made of the fables. Hope you enjoy.

.                                Amarnath flower

The Rivers and the Sea

The rivers joined  together to petition to the sea

“Look how sweet our waters are, why don’t you now see

Pray why does it all turn so briny

With  just a touch of your waves so shiny “

“If not salty you wish to be then stop flowing to me “ said the sea

 

 

 

The Rose and the amarnath

An Amarnath planted near the rose tree said “ What a lovely flower is rose”

I envy you your beauty and your perfume of the name rose.”

“ Dear Amarnath, indeed I flourish briefly

Must perish by an early doom, if not hand plucked harshly

But thou are immortal, bloomest   ever in renewed youth and full life force”

 

 

The frogs complaint against the sun

Once upon a time when the sun announced his wish to take a wife

The frogs raised up their voices, Jupiter, disturbed by their croaking life

Asked why, one said “ The Sun when he is single

Parches up the marsh and we die in arid homes , but if he  will mingle

And he  should  beget other suns, then what  be our future like

 

 

 

 

The peacock and Juno

The peacock made complain to the ancient Roman Goddess one day

That the nightingale pleased many a ear with his songs everyday

While he becomes a laughing stock

When he opens his beak to talk

Said Goddess to peacock “But the splendour of emerald, beauty and style is in your way  

 

 

“But for what purpose have I tail  gorgeous with painted plumage

A dumb beauty to be so long as I am surpassed in song “ said the big bird with rage

Said  Goddess then firmly  “The lot of each kind

Has been assigned with something in mind

To thee beauty , to eagle strength, to nightingale song, to the ravens and crows, augury  thru the age

Awww very educative fables. Indeed in life many a times, we never get satisfied of what we have. I don't know why maybe it's all but of nature i suppose. A lovely write JK.

All good, but I especially like the frog limerick since I've always liked listening to the frogs sing in the ponds and marshes.

Very well done, my lady friend...
Blessed are they who romp among the flowers and the trees
For they shall be blessed with fragrant perfumes, heightened senses, and a wit that stings like bees!

WOW!!! Roseline, all these are EXCELLENT limericks!!!! They are well-structured, with wonderful rhyme scheme all through. Not only that, I enjoyed the fables. I have always been interested in stories of the fables.
