 Sand Between Your Toes

Sometimes you need to get away

so if there's one in reach

there's really nothing better than

a walk along the beach.

You listen to the sounds and

watch the children as they play.

The magic of the beach lets

all your troubles fade away.

To hear the waves and feel the breeze

it simply can't be beat.

So just kick off your shoes

and let the waves lap at your feet.

A T-shirt and some shorts,

a little sunburn on your nose.

It's funny how good life can feel

with sand between your toes.

It doesn't matter if it's a lake, ocean, or just along a creek. There's something about the sounds that are so relaxing, and the peace it brings.

Your poem sure brought the good life out in me. For some reason I can only stand the beach, its constant wind, sun and sunburn, sand that gets in everything, chill at night and greedy mosquitoes, only so long. And that incessant sound of the waves rolling in that drives me nuts.

A great place to visit. But I wouldn't want to live there.
