it's oft' been said in poems and things
by way of rhyme and melodies

comparisons which tried to make
to natures things and peoples make

but mountains, valleys nor the sea
shall 'ere compare my thoughts of thee

for I think that I shall never see
a poem as lovely as Samalee

Joyce Kilmer kind of ruined the tree comparisons for all time, but I still got your message. I tried writing about a former love and found that is was a task beyond my reach. You did better than I did.

Unless she is upset about being compared to a tree, I think she loved it at the time. The word, "former," shows that it didn't work out anyway.

Ahhh . . . Take off of Joyce Kilmer's couple of lines about that tree. Not bad.
