This Old Guitar

This Old Guitar

(Instrumental Intro X1)

Verse 1

When I wake up in the morning and I hear the falling rain.                            reminds me of the old times and old friends that have gone away.                I wish I could see 'em just one more time to tell 'em how I feel                      but all I have is this old guitar so I'll play a little song for them
I hope someday that I'll see 'em but I know it won't be long
for now they're just a memory and all they meant to me
but I'm sure they're all a' smiling and a' looking down on me
I know someday that I'll join 'em, with this old......... (stop)                            this old guitar and me

(Instrumental x2)

Chorus

You see, my guitar is my solace, it's been there all along
When I get sad and lonely, feels like I'm going home
If I get a little down and out, I don't see no sun at all
I get out my old guitar and I let her......... (stop)                                              let her take me home..... I let her take me home

Verse 2

Sometimes I get to thinking, when I'm sitting here alone.                            of all the things that I ever had and all the things that I've done.            Well they don't seem to matter now, 'cause they're all past and gone.          I'll just pley my guitar and strum a band new song

Chorus

You see, my guitar is my solace, it's been there all along
When I get sad and lonely, feels like I'm going home
If I get a little down and out, I don't see no sun at all
I get out my old guitar and I let her.......... (stop)                                            let her take me home....I let her take me home

Verse 3

Nothing like my guitar, on a cloudy rainy day
staring out the window, makes me wanna go out and play
but the six strings they're a calling, to give me just one more chance.          for my fingers on my fretboard to get together in a little dance

(Instrumental X2)

Outro Chorus
You see, my guitar is my solace, it's been there all along
when I get sad and lonely, feels like I'm going home
If I get a little down and out, I don't see no sun at all
I get out my old guitar and I let her........                                                        I let her take me home.....I let her take me home.                                      I let her take me home.....I let her take me home.

(Outro Instrumental)
