We are each uniquely individual and we should always celebrate our individual gifts and talents.

*I Am an Individual* La Shawn Kelley I am an individual I am me and nobody else; I am one of a kind. God made me as unique as a precious stone. I am an individual And I do things my way; I will not play small. I do things that make me feel good as a person. I am an individual I don’t compare myself to anyone else; there is no comparison. I have to fulfill my purpose is life. I am an individual I won’t be judged by someone else’s standards; I'm not seeking acceptance. My goals feed my personal growth and development. I am an individual I love and respect myself as a person; I am comfortable in my skin. I love who I have become but my journey continues. I am an individual I am focused on using my talents to inspire others; I have many gifts to share. The gift of compassion, the gift curiosity, and the gift of exploration. I am as individual as a snowflake Each one with its own pattern as they drop one by one from the sky. I am a one of a kind masterpiece.

We certainly are unique. And while we are different, each of us has a contribution to make to this world and we need support in order to do it.

On the other hand, the poem seems to come from someone who lacks confidence and thereby has to announce loudly their confidence just to feel worthy at all. Truly confident people do not have to shout it to the rooftops. Their confidence is in their actions and not their pronouncements.

Wonderful poem. Yes we are all created for a purpose and no two are exactly alike. People and the media like to use labels but there are so many differences among people who seemingly agree about similar things. If we would just treat folks like they are all made which is unique and special. Then this world might be a better place without all the labels. Amen.
