Da-da!! My grand finale to my Spanish holiday memoirs must, of course, be (an attempt at) humour... yes, in your dreams, Kate! Well, that being said, you'll get the sorry truth tomorrow... :)) K xx
LOST IN SPACE
Surfers’ beach, singles’ paradise,
playground of the beautiful people -
myriad children of Venus and Mars
on whom the elements sparkle and shine.
Their bodies are art: bedecked unclad,
bejewelled - be bronzed!
I’m dazzled by their wind-tossed metals,
transported to celestial worlds…
A demi-god with moons for eyes
serves rocket-fuel cocktails at the Bar.
A stud is earthed at the back of his tongue,
swelling his accent with Spanish fruit-sweetness:
Your son wrote this, Kate!? He is very good!! This is the poem you mention in "Brown", right? Anyway, I see the apple doesn't fall far from its tree at all!! Well expressed write!
ah naughty Kate your desire is showing again! guess you'll be
returning to spain soon as you can, for more "outer space" meanderings.;-)Another subtle gem!
Ahhh sweet Kate your wanderings ccome alive in your writing and we get to enjoy your travels as much as you. Thank you foe sharing such wonderful images.
I love the way you write. The scenes come alive before the reader's eyes--few poets have that gift for making living poetry. You have it, in spades! And I am most grateful.
I really love the lines,
"...a demi-god with moons for eyes
serves rocket-fuel cocktails at the bar..." *save one for me! LOL*
and,
"...a stud is earthed at the back of his tongue,
swelling his accent with Spanish fruit-sweetness:...."
The Wholly Book of Doo-Doo-Rot-on-Me is adult satirical humor featuring adult language and adult content, and the work is a parody of the Old Testament Book of Deuteronomy.
Thirteen Sick Tasteless Classics, Part II is adult literature featuring adult language and situations that satirizes thirteen famous novellas and short stories. It is Jay Dubya's sixteenth ebook.
You have a beautiful voice, especially for reciting poetry! Great pic. too, I am glad I was directed here to comment or I would have missed it!
