Last two poems before the Spanish suitcase very sadly gets put back into the loft, then. Just two "odds" and "ends"... guess this is the "odd"-one! :)) K xx And - oops, sorry about the repeat Clint Eastwood thing, but, when I wrote it, this was the FIRST time I had thought of it and not the second!

LOCATION

The huge picture windows, opening inwards,
give out high up across a dry valley,
towards arid hilltops close by;

these are smeared with a haze of heat
and a grey-green stubble,
reminiscent of Clint Eastwood’s chin.

This is a spaghetti-western style villa
with décor haute Seville.

In the bathroom, where I’m sitting,
there are beach ceramics,
courtyard tiles and pool mosaics.

Designed for fine wine, candles and sharing,
it has twin sinks, double shower, team bath.

Stunning scenery from this WC
and the view from the bidet is better!

Brilliant... I DID fiddle about with the line breaks in the last 6 lines. And you're right about the use of verbs - probably not necessary. Thanks for these signals, TP! :))

I like the way allowed it to slide gently to create an ambience in first stanza, but then suddenly that stanza break didnt work for me...I liked that naughty idea of Clint Eastwood's chin. In second strophe and first couplet after that you may consider weeding out those to be verbs. I like your wit and sense of humor! However I believe melding last two couplets with the triplet before them may make it even more hard hitting...

GR8 going, friend!

What a picture you've painted; I love those old westerns. You really excell at this form, Kate I not only could see it, I felt myself in it.

And you'd be surprised at the inspiration and the many sonnets that started while sitting in my throne!

LOL. Some WC's have the best view. The sea being the biggest one!
Never understood why the westerns are called spaghetti, as they were filmed in spain.
Never understood why the soundtrack was half a sec out of sync'?

Oh Sweet KATE this stirs the soul with longing for the past, a yearning for the present (especially in those surroundings)and a hope for the future. Last line really shook it up and i had images of you sitting on the bidet with the impish smile of yours. lol Love that image as much as I do your work.

Hugs,
Pops
