Again today came and went with all the meaning and intent
gathered, scattered, tossed and drawn, for a day to carry on
whining winds, dark cloud bellows, rainy droplets, sunshine mellow,
raising sunrise, setting sun, times to do what's left undone.
Mortal mountains, gods long gone, distant stars now all alone,
sitting in the sky above, longing for a human's love.
They use to share the cool of nights with a restfulness delight
then their days faded out when people no more cared about
counting every star they could, laughing out when they would
forget what number they had called, losing count on them all.
People seem to be that way, losing interest through their days
through the portal of the earth, from here to there from where they were.
Forgetting life is not inside or in a building where they hide
shaping spaces in the sky, where no mortal man can fly.
Dancing, twinkling, little lights, needing nothing to be bright
other than the substance round existing only where it's found.
Daylights rays of beaming lights, bidding stars away good night
shining brightly as our own that gives us all our living home
where we go about a day in the most unnatural ways
separated from the things, that we need most, our good to bring
some would say we're all attuned to the stars, the sky, the moon
while others prove that's just not so the stars lost meaning long ago
when the fear of other's worth became the thing that would curse
all the kings of mortal men to fear their brothers and their friends.
separating more and more the values they had laid in store
on their vane eclectic pride where they smile because they tried
to fool their selves into thinking, nothing more was worth the making
than a power to control every human, mortal soul.
While the people, who in time, gave them praises to define
how much truth of their doings meant to all who in viewing
stubborn, taunting, hateful men, relentless in their dividends
refusing to be welcomed as the grateful peoples ruling class
determined to be hailed as fear, disregarding children's tears
having to ignore their lives, wrapped in blankets of disguise
searching for a way to please only hoping to give ease
to the things which they respected becoming their life objective
never thinking wanting more than a way to deploy
the good they know could exist without the hating, arrogant bliss.

Black Ash & Green (Sessions with my Therapist) by Pearl Barley C M Donaldson

She never felt safe at home as a young girl, and didn't understand why when she finally escaped she wasn't safe in the big wide world either ...effectively jumping out of the frying pan into the fire!
