Sand touches lightly across my face
This wind surely brings with it a storm
Ancients dance to vision’s delight
As this evening carries in it a song
Silent electric touch in the desert sky
Adds illusion to my eyes weary picture
Tomorrow the birds in the acacia trees
Will wake to water with a vengeance
God has listened to the ancients call again
Dusty rivers soon run then nourish land
Happy wildlife, plants and tired man live
Just perhaps another day in this dead desert
Dry land yet beautiful cactus sunrises
Seemingly they tease the human mind’s eye
But surely within the coyotes distant song
You’ll hear its been way, way too dry……..

Lovely write, M'Lady. Dry it has been here in Eastern Virginia, and not for the best. Yet, the desert seems such an interesting place...one of those places to experience before my time is up...thanks for giving me a preview taste..
