Michelle, this is wonderful! I totally identify with your thoughts in this poem. Pets are gifts from God, created for our pleasure and encouragement. I often thank Him for my little dog; she's lively, as in leaping from the porch after she flies out the door, barking incessantly for a game of frisbee, and so many other things that are way too much for these old bones. But He knew exactly what I (and my Bill) needed, and I am truly thankful.
I just found this today, but I'm saving it.

A pen unlike any other. Truly thought provoking, and delivered on wings of gentleness

This is the most poignant animal poem I have ever read. Truly an inspired flight! After reading it, one smiles, and nods to oneself in recognition of these feelings.

Amen, Michelle...
Sometimes God sends us our little pets to show us the way through them. As I have said my little dog Blackie is so precious to me. I'll have to write something about him.:)

I think out four-legged friends do more for our morale and for our emotional stability than most people give credence to. It seems that they always know just what to do to make our day and to remind us that we are loved. Great write, Michelle!

This made me smile! It never ceases to amaze me how compassionate and kind our animal friends can be. Truly gifts from God. I have a seven-month-old black lab named Lucille, as well as two naughty-but-nice felines. They really make our house a home!
