"Keep Right On To The End Of The Road " .................................................................... When I was a teen, I often wondered What life had in store for me Then one day I realised Its what I have in store for life that really matters You have to take the world by storm And imprint it with your mark and design I became aware from feelings without myself That all would change in a trice When my mom and dad died I suddenly realised that we My brothers and sisters Would all have to go our seperate ways And nothing would ever be the same anymore It was a time to make contingency plans If such things are possible with the variables of fortune Because I knew even then That all is ordained by God I knew I would have to radically change The course of my life Set out my priorities and stall And invest in my unpredictable future Prudence and thrift being the order of the day And self discipline the rule of thumb My mom used to say to me She would die happy and contented Knowing I was happily settled down And my pop just wanted me to be true to myself The best personal advice I ever did receive My grandad always told me stick close to God And you won't go far wrong I did, and he was right, not once has the Almighty let me down I have met angels and saints all along the road of fate Each divinely placed to be pivotal in my life Though I didn't fully recognise at the time With hindsight comes insight And looking back now, from where I am at I can see the unravelling tapestry Of a superior hand In all its majestic glory The weave of a master craftsman And looking ahead into the distance I have no fears whatsoever For I know my redeemer liveth Copyright by Peter Paton 2006
