Guarded treasure-laden caravans
from the Roman legions' conquered lands
The royal line of ancient Mollosor
birthed this beast of love and war
The Celts believed them Cwn Annwn
guardians of the gates of hell
This one I call Eva
A name that suits her just as well
She’s sensitive
She’s caring
Fast and smart
So strong and daring
She sees through folks
and lets me know
who should stay
and who must go
Obedient and regal
a loyal friend indeed
of purest Roman standards
a champion of her breed

I agree - a good dog will keep guard over his domain. I believe they can "see" into the spirit. My wife and I like Irish Wolfhounds and someday soon, when we relocate to Durango Colorado, we will own one.
