death is still being decided by politicians, we elect politicians = we should make our wishes known

Poem Artwork

politics and irony

by: fee

gunfire

harsh and loud

hear the sound of dead

bombing

sky dropped hell

children bloodied red

alone

field soldier

he knows deaths calling

flying

flag draped souls

the curtains falling

raising

hands take vote

elect war machine

pen

making ink strokes

no hope for peace seen

crying

teardrops born

uncomprehending

flowers

wilt and blow

pain never ending

Fabulous write Fee, so many risk their lifes for the sake of countries, and yes, (politicians) My son, is on his way home from
Iraq now as I write, I am very proud of him, yet, I do wonder
the effect it will have on his mind forever more!!!! My whole family
of men have served in the military and one doing time in Viet-nam
was in contact with the agent orange...the side effects he will live
with forever and the visions that took place in a bloody war is overwhelming for ALL those men and women...and where the hell is
the govn. to help this men afterwards? they should be award throughout their lifes for covering their arse...grrr...ok, I'm through...hehe...Awesome write Fee and thanks for writing in memory
of your countries men and women...Hugs dear friend, Peg

Fee,
Oh Powerful Poet!!
"gunfire

harsh and loud

hear the sound of dead"

I can not even begin to imagine how awful it is to hear this, as I could only slightly compare it to my personal experiences with death on a plane of hospice type as the final breath does leave. This type of death that pulls the reader into your poem is something I would never want to hear as that sound is also horror.

And kudos to that.
Those that never went to war are the ones wishing one.
Great words, great feeling.

Pain never ending - how so sadly true, for far too many. War is Hell, but it always seems mankind knows no other way.

Such a gracious poem, Felix, expressing the heartfelt sentiments of the masses. Grace and politics make unhappy bedfellows and can seldom share the same decision-making platform, it seems. I am struck by the visual appearance of the two title words: politics and irony. Might be my eyes, but all I can see is steely iron, like a shrapnel cross somehow. War is a dagger to the heart. Bless you, Kate xx
