Secret
Was it raindrops or his teardrops
That he drowned in on that night?
No one seemed to know the answer
No one could shed any kind of light
They all said that he seemed happy
So how could he have been so sad
They shook their heads in wonder
Could his life have been that bad?
The eulogy read was full of praise
No one had a harsh word to say
They wiped their eyes and left him
All alone there on that dreary day
Only one person knew the answer
A secret held in her heart so tight
It was the teardrops not the raindrops
That he drowned in on that night…

I haven't read or written a poem in a long time. Came to AD to read some and maybe feel inspired. I started at the top of the new poems page. Ugh...I don't know, I think my poetry might have been pretty bad too, which might be why I stopped, but it wasn't until I got to your name that I knew I would find something really good. Something that is well written and evokes strong emotions. Thank heavens for you, Felix!
Be well,
Sara
