As I grow older myself, it is easy to look back at others who are older and winding down through the last of their years. So much to be thankful for...so much to regret.

Parked In Time By: Felix L. Perry They sit there where he left them Killing time, gathering equity in rust Province took his driver’s licence Said his driving, they couldn’t trust The government took his farm land For unpaid taxes too far in arrears His kids saved the family homestead His grandfather built back many years The good Lord took wife from him Cried his last tears in the winter 1989 His kids drop by to visit now and then Smiles and tells them everything is fine Life has taken the best he had to offer Giving him the best of smile and tear Like his old car and the tractor, he knows This will be his final year…

So, so sad. Yet, I've seen this poem in many elders that I've known. I can only hope my fading years are happier.

Ronald...Although this may seem dark, the poem itself was inspired believe it or not by the photo which was taken by the photographer who does my Santa Studio shoots each Christmas. Though, as I age myself, I see and look back on things both good and bad and I am amazed at how the world has changed so drastically in one lifetime.

Sad but true. You are writing a lot of these end-of-life type poems these days. I'm ready to go at any time but not writing about it very much yet. Maybe in my last few days if I know when they are coming.

I must say, that this one is a real tearjerker.
