My brother in law, James, is dieing of cancer. He also has Alzheimers. Hospice has been called in to help him and the family. He and my husband are very close.

The journey is almost over,
your health declines each day
You've fought the battle bravely,
as your life slowly fades away

Pain and affliction wrack your
thin body, Blue eyes are no
longer bright
Slowly your drifting away
towards everlasting light

To every thing there is a season,
winter, spring, summer, fall
A time to be born, a time to die,
which is predestined for us all

As you face your final days,
you are never alone
Friends and family gather near,
with love richly shown

Angels keep their silent vigil
Our Lord is always near
Soon he'll take you home,
His hands are on your fear

Earthly life is just a moment,
as eons come and go
Eternity awaits when you cross over,
to God's Heavenly Home

We'll really miss your presence,
our lives won't be the same
but you'll always be remembered
in thought, deed and name
