Our World War II GI’s.

They are slowly fading away.
 

They sacrificed like no one else.
 

We should honor them,
 

while we still can today.
 

I know a Disabled American Vet,
who is a very dear friend.   

We went to a concert.

We listened to the old songs

that were popular,

way back then. 
 

There were many smiles,

and there were many tears.

The old tunes brought memories

of the past and the good old years.

It was indeed an honor to stand beside

my hero and my friend.

They played  “America the Beautiful”

and we sang along until the very end.

“Thank you for your sacrifice.”

My hero and my friend.    

“Thank you for giving your all.” 

America salutes you!
