CHRISTMAS THAT I MISS...

Are there some things that you miss about Christmas in the past? Come let us recall and rejoice once again, at long last!

Poem Artwork

I miss the family gatherings, my grandparents making a fuss.

I miss that "little child" that was once in all of us.

I miss the excitement and the smell of a brand-new toy

I miss my parents saying, “You better behave Johnny-boy!”

I miss the smell of home-made cookies that were really made from scratch.

I miss staying up, waiting for Santa, red candy apples; where can we get a batch?

I miss making a snowman and building a snowball fort taller than me.

I miss the smelling of the scent of a real live Christmas tree.

I miss the old songs, Christmas carols, when we sang about our Savior and His birth.

Jesus gave His all, He is the real reason we have Christmas in all the earth!

Come let us adore him and sing Praises of His birth!

                    MERRY CHRISTMAS all!

Wow these are lovely memories. However I can't wait to have my hands on the snow which is not available here in Nigeria. I want to witness a Christmas that goes beyond just eating a special meal. The carol's are a smoothie for my soul. Thanks for sharing your memories sire.

So do I. Fortunately, a friend of mine who has an assisted living home invited us over for a party last night with good food reminiscence of the season, plenty of wine and karaoke for those of us who remember the melodies but have trouble with words on some Christmas carols.

Made a couple of new friends and enjoyed myself singing those old carols from my youth. Something you never forget.

The wife has the house decorated,
in Christmas attire so formal.
I can't wait till it all comes down,
I miss a house that's normal.
