WELL, I HONESTLY HAVE NOT WRITTEN A HAND-WRITTEN LETTER IN YEARS. SO THAT'S OUT COMPLETELY AND FACEBOOK I DO EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. SKYPE AND MESSENGER...I NEVER DO. I WAS NEVER A VISITOR, A FAMILY AFFAIR IS A 'GREAT BIG' THING FOR ME AND NEVER LIKED A LOT OF VISITORS. SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER DONE, FROM MY YOUTH...I WAS RAISED THAT WAY AND I'M THINKING IT WAS FOR THE BEST. SO...EMAIL I DO, BUT IT COMES SECOND TO TELEPHONING. SURPRISED YOU LEFT OUT TWITTER...THAT'S MY HANG OUT SPOT(SMILE). INTERESTING AND LOVED THE SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

Thanks for the accolade. I don't deserve it. And this is no poem, but hopefully you will get enough readers because it is interesting.

I would change things around a bit. It takes a lot of time and effort for live visits, but I've been fortunate to have two authors here visit me recently. And I visited an author, Jerry Bolton, a few years ago and we exchanged books. These visits don't sell our books, but they do connect us with people of like mind when it comes to writing.

I can no longer write cursive. In fact, although before that I worked on my handwriting to make it as readable as my mother's perfect handwriting. But when I was paralyzed and grateful for a hand splint to start writing again at 21, I switched from cursive to architectural lettering because it was actually faster for me. And then, by 1998, I could no longer even sign my name. So for me, the computer and this dictation system that I'm using is a lifesaver. Fortunately, my dictation system doesn't understand text. I can't hold a cell phone in my hands and search for letters with my thumbs, but I agree that texting is a far better way to send messages to your lover in class silently instead of the old passing of notes is an improvement.

Finally, I still find email to be very flexible and useful for communication. When we wrote letters to one another and rarely called because of the cost of long distance, my family and I, thousands of miles apart, communicated about once a month or so. Now through email for the past 20 years we keep up with each other on a weekly basis. With my mother, it was email for many years, and then she called on her TTY phone. I have tried to get her on Face Time, but she refuses and both her phone and email have gone away.

BTW… Cell phone videos are atrocious! Most people don't know that by taking them in the landscape mode they would be much better. Just because they're handy doesn't make them take good video. If you want superb video, carry an iPad. Beats even the most expensive minicams for stability by miles. Studio quality video.
